Buddy Valastro, the host of TLC's "Cake Boss," is a lifelong baker and has been a part of the food and baking industry since the age of 12. He was an apprentice baker at his father's bakery for four years before deciding to go on to college. He debuted as the owner of Carlo's Bakery, which had been in his family for over 100 years, in 1990. "Cake Boss" is now broadcast into over 100 countries around the world. Buddy launched his own line of cookbooks, Valarie's Sweets, in 2001, and has since published 17 books.
Buddy has also established the Buddy Valastro Foundation for Autism, which helps fund research for autism treatments. It was founded in honor of his daughter, Valarie, who has autism.
